/ Making a simple pre-dummy /

The aim with this workshop is to guide your ongoing project towards becoming a photobook. The workshop will be based on group feedback and 1:1 teaching. During four intense evenings it will be all about the book as an object, narrative, editing, testing, sequencing, and flow. We will have open dialogues about how the book promotes the history of the content. What do you want to tell? We will talk about layout and materiality. We will also briefly look into other photobooks and artist books for inspiration on content, material, and binding.

At the end of the workshop, we will make the content for the first pre-dummy in a simple form.

The workshop is process-orientated – it will be more about the journey than finalising a photobook.

Your project can consist of a diversity of mediums and forms but is based in photography.

Everybody who has been working on a project for a while can participate – all are welcome, no matter how experienced you are!

The workshop will be held in English,

but both mentors also speak all the Scandinavian languages.

What to bring:

Ca. 40 images printed in ca. 10x15cm

Texts, sketches, thoughts, and inspirations relevant for your project/book…

Computer/hard drive with Powerpoint/Keynote

You will have to access a printer during the workshop – either if you have one at home, or at a print house.

Nina Worren is a multidisciplinary artist, curator, and mentor.

She is working with photography, video, text & image, and the photographic artist's book as an object. Her work is practice- and research-based experimenting with form, content and material. By combining documentary, archival, staged, and performative processes, she investigates what it means to be human and our relation to nature.

Nina Worren also works as a curator and is the founder of the exhibition and process platform NW Gallery & The Project Room in Copenhagen. In the exhibitions she curates, the photographic artist book is often represented in one way or another.

During all the meetings we will create an open, respectful, and trustful space where we can share and learn from each other. We promise you it will be an exciting journey into your universes and the amazing world of the photobook.
